How to Change and Fit a new car radio in a Nissan Serena
Here follow the step by step instructions on replacing a car stereo / radio on a Nissan Serena.
Before you start, you should know that if the original stereo is in your Serena then it is highly likely you will need a Nissan Serena ISO Stereo Head Unit Adaptor. You can pick one up on Ebay for less than £3.
You will need a Phillips Cross Head Screwdriver for this task.
Now, to remove the current radio or stereo you must look towards the top of the head unit for two screws connecting to the fascia. They are hidden from view and located just above the stereo itself. Once removed, you must pull out the whole fascia to gain access to the brackets. When removing your fascia you will see an electronic connection on the right of it which you must disconnect to be able to complete the job properly. Once the fascia is completely removed, take a look at the sides of the radio. You will see three screws on either side. Only remove the top two on each side then simply slide the stereo out. Disconnect the current wires and remove the old unit. Once you reach this stage you will see the brackets on the sides of the old stereo which you must remove and attach to the new stereo / radio. There are only two screws on each side and its very easy to remove and fit to the new device. Next you must connect the two wires to the new stereo. As I mentioned at the start of this post, you may need an adaptor to fit the new stereo. Once you have successfully connected the wires and antenna, just repeat the process in reverse order. It might be worth checking you have correctly installed the device before sealing it back in place. Also, don’t forget to reconnect the electronic device you removed from the fascia. Well that is how to fit a car radio on a Nissan Serena. I hope I have made the procedure clear for you.

Sorry unable to see any screws at or near top of unit and unless they are hidden by the front of the radio sitting forward over said screws it’s a no go for me.
Hi Barry,
If I remember correctly they are facing upwards at the very top. Not inwards into the dashboard.
What is the size of the radio in the Nissan serina
Sadly my Nissan was scrapped due to wear and tear. So I cannot answer that sorry.
